drake mag VOlume 64, issue 2 – Art direction and design

Project Brief
As the Art Director for this year’s magazine, I had the chance to lead the design of two thematically connected pieces: the cover and a fashion feature focused on cocktail couture. The issue’s theme — “Brave and Bright, Moving Forward” — served as my guiding concept, interpreted in different ways across each project.

My Process
For the cover, I embraced a sense of elegance and forward momentum through a clean, minimal layout, accentuated by pops of color, sparkle, and sophistication. The goal was to capture a feeling of optimism.

The fashion spread was developed in close collaboration with the Photo Director. We envisioned a moody, bar-inspired setting where the models and clothing could truly shine. Visually, the layout lets the photography lead — with minimal text and subtle design elements that enhance rather than compete with the imagery.

Beyond the cover and fashion story, I designed multiple editorial spreads and oversaw the magazine as a whole — from concept to final print. Check out the magazine by clicking the link below!
